CHAMBER OF COMMERCE WANTS MORE INFORMATION

A proposal from the Associated Chambers of Commerce that an internal loan of £50,000,000 should be raised free of Interest to Britain, but at 2i per cent, for Ave years to subscribers was discussed at last night's meeting of the executive of the Wanganui Chamber of Commerce but was referred back to the Associated Chambers for .further information. Mr. N. M. Izard said that it uould be much better to make a straightout. gift from the sterling balance is London.

This point of view was also expressed by Mr. F. 11. Bethwaite.

Mr. D. O. Howden: Why not support the Charter Movement? Mr. Izard: A straight out gift is the best practical way of helping England. but I do not know sufficient about it.
