ST. PAUL’S WOMENS FRIENDSHIP CLUB
The July meeling of the club, at which there was a good attendance of members and friends, was held on Wednesday evening. were taken by Mrs MacGregor. The special effort, staged by the club for “Food for Britain," by means of a trading stall in charge of Mesdameb Holmes and Gaston and Miss Haase, and gifts of tinned food, met with a most gratifying response, and the committee extends its most sincere thanks to everyone who helped in this worthy cause.
An interesting talk on “China Painting” way given by Mrs. D. Ryan and the various articles on exhibition were very much admired. “Song Huddles,” for which Mrs. Ryan was also responsible, concluded the programme. Competition results were as follow : Pikelets, Miss Haase 1, Mrs. Holmes 2, Mrs. Gaston 3; three best violets. Mrs. McFarlane 1, Mrs. Holmes 2. The door hostesses were Mesdames Aitken and Patterson, and supper was served bv Mesdames C. E. Ross, Jones and G. Ross. The evening concluded with the singing of “Auld Lang Syne.
