New Handicapper Appointed for Auckland Races
To replace Mr. McManemin, doyen of New Zealand racing handicappers, who retired’at the end of the 1946-47 season after 30 years’ service as handicapper to the Auckland Racing Club, Mr. A. Tronson, of Auckland, has received the appointment as handicapper.

“Chronicle,” Mr. Tronson accepted a position with the "Auckland Sun’ §ome 20 year.; ago, and remained in Auckland as a freelance when that paper ceased publication. He received several appointments in an official capacity, his first, such being as handi-
capper to Ihe Egmont Racing Club, a position which ho ytill holds. Other clubs for which he is handicapper include the Whangarc!, Matamala, Rotorua and Thames clubs. Ho has re-
cently received the appointment of handicapper to the Avondale and Chinemuri clubs, but his appointment as weight-adjust or for the Auckland Racing Club is th'' most important ol all. It will, of course, entail his resignation as judge for that duh aftei holding the position for several years He is also judge for the Auckland Trotting Cluh, the Waipa Racing Cluo and the Waikato and Cambridge Trotting Clubs, and hold that office for th:' Ohincmuri Jockey Club until his appointment as handicapper.
