GOAL SENTENCE FOR CONVERSION OF CAR
O.C Taihape, July 23 Conversion of a motor-car at Tai hapc, on July 18, led to the appear
ance of Thomas Pirere, alias Tame Teatakohu, a 19 year old farm worker, in the Taumarunui Court, where he was sentenced to three month’s imprisonment. Pirere, who was working witli his father near Huntervilie, paid a visit to Taihape and looked into several cars before eventually finding one that he could start, said senior-ser-geant. F. Taylor. He drove it. to Raurnnu and later to National Park. He
was arrested by Constable A. D. Aulam while still in possession of the car.
Pirere appeared in the Wanganui Magistrate’s Court on a similar charge on March 28, added the seniorsergeant. He was then admitted to probation for one year. While still on probation he left his place of employment without the permission of the probation officer and committed a similar offence. No damage was done to the car
