WEDDING LEACH—CADMAN f A wedding which attracted considerable interest took place in Auckland on Jun e 14 at St. Barnabas Church, Mt. Eden, when Phyllis, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. B. Cadman. Riddell Road, Glendowie, was married to Captain Charles Robert Leach, only son of Mrs. and the late Mr. G. R. Leach, Westmere, Wanganui. The bride, a tormer St. Cuthbert's College girl and granddaughter of the late Hon. Sir Alfred Jerome Cadman, K.C.M.G., and Lady Cadman, was given away- by her father, Mr. F. B. Cadman. Simplicity was the keynote of her charming gown of white moss crepe made with long tight-fitting sleeves and a slightly trained skirt. Her veil, which was lent by her sls-ter-In‘law, Mrs. A. R. Laird, of Wanganui, fell softly from a high coronet of pearls. The three bridesmaids, Misses Carol Witherow, Edrls Russell, of Auckland, and Betty Laird, of Wanganui, who attended the bride, also wor e white frocks and carried bouquets of scarlet roses and anemones. Their small Juliet caps of silver lame had shoulder length veils of tulle and tiny posies of scarlet flowers on one side. Attending the bridegroom as best mar. and groomsmen were Messrs M. Scott Young (Auckland), Ray Laird (Wanganui). and Lieut. Bruce Kennedy (Auckland).

Captain Leach was awarded the M.B.E. and E.D. in recognition of his services whilst serving in the Middle East.

The reception was held in th c Domain Tea Kiosk, and the guests were received by Mrs. F. B. Cadman, who wore soft dusky pink, a black hat with touches of pink, and platinum furs. A very happy note was brought In at the reception when the guests were asked to charge their glasses and drink to the health of Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Carson, of Brunswick, Wanganui, who were present and celebrating their 52nd anniversary that day also.*
