SMALL CAR HITS POST

SEQUEL TO POLICE CHASE (PA.) Wellington, July 15 A small car driving at speed along Queen’s Drive, Lyall Bay, last night, with the police night patrol car hot in pursuit, crashed into a telegraph pole while attempting to negotiate a corner, and was badly wrecked.

The car, which is believed to have been a converted car, hit the kerb on the approaching corner and overturned against the pole, bringing down the overhead wires. The driver was extricated by cutting through the floor boards, and was taken to hospital in an unconscious condition.
