TINNED FISH

CARGO FOR WELLINGTON PROVINCE UNLOADED (P.A.) Wellington, July J Many cartons of salmon, sardines, pilchards and mixed tinned fish were unloaded from the Union Company’s chartered vessel Hartlepool today . Part of the cargo of about 6000 cartons are "for the Wellington province.’’ Of a large Government purchase of tinned fish from the British Admiralty some cartons were stamped 1943 when packed in the United States. The Hartlepool's cargo for Wellington is part of a Dominionwide distribution scheme. The South Island's allotment is still to come from Australia. The total purchase, which was stated to be large, was made by the Government from Admiralty surplus stores in Sydney. ••••••••••••■■•■•■•••••••I
