NEW SALARY SCALE FOR KARITANE NURSES
(P.A.) Wellington, May 6. Tite Stabilisation Commission ha:: approved a new salary scale for Karitanc nurses, which was submitted to the commission by the Plunket Society last December. Details of the new rate will be issued to the Kantanc Nurses’ Bureaux at Auckland, Wellington. Christchurch and Dunedin, to matrons of Karitane hospitals and Plunket nurses throughout the Dominion. OBITUARY MISS I. R. GUFFIE. The death has occurred of Miss Isabel R. Gullie, who was well known as Sister Gullie, of the Lincoln Private Hospital at Napier. She acted as sub-matron of the Wellington Public Hospital, and afterward matron of the Clifton branch of the hospital. About 1917, Miss Guffie and her sister, the late Mrs. P. Ashcroft, opened a private hospital in Napier which they carried un until fairly recently. Since disposing of the hospital, Miss Guffie has lived in retirement at Fitzroy Road, Napier. She leas es one brother and four sisters.
