Slight Earthquake Yesterday. There was a slight earth tremor at 4.45 p.m. yesterday. Felt indoors, its suddenness was rather unusual. A Wanganui East resident stated that his house shook most perceptibly, and the subsidence of the tremor was rather gradual. New Wanganui Company. The current issue of the "Mercantile Gazette,” records the registration of a new Wanganui company: "Sun Plating Service Ltd. Regd. as a private Co. March 31. Capital: £750 in shares of £1 each. Subscribers: Wanganui—E. G. Williams and D. Jones 375 each. Objects: Storekeepers, electroplaters etc. and incidental.” Wanganui Sketch Club. The Wanganui Sketch Club is to hold its monthly exhibition next Friday night. During the month Mr. D. R. Blight (etcher) has given a lecture on the drawing of the head and Miss Shirley Hoult (portraitist) has given tuition on the figure. These two members have acted as tutors for the month. This appointment of tutors is greatly appreciated by the members, especially those who are making icir early essays in sketching.
