VACCINATIONS IN NEW YORK CONTINUE AGAINST SMALLPOX
Recd. 8 p.m. New York, April 15 Two additional cases of smallpox were reported yesterday, bringing to nine the total of the suspected nd definite cases in New York city since the first case was reported in March. The number of deaths remains two —the first in New York since 1912. The only other cases reported in New York State are four in the village of Millbrook.
The New York City Health Department. whose clinics are crowded with vaccination applicants, has borrowed 500,000 units of vaccine from the Navy, which ordered its personnel in the east to be revaccinated. The New York Health Commissioner held a Press conference yesterday which concluded by vaccinating the reporters. On the advice of the New York city Health Department the United Nations yesterday began vaccinating in its health clinic delegates and their families, and members of the staff. The procedure is on a voluntary basis.
