lived. 9.10 p.m. London, March 19 The Cairo correspondent of “The Times” says that the Senate was sitting last flight when Sarby Abu Alam Pasha, leader of the Waftdist Opposition, asked for a division on a motiou demanding th e immediate withdrawal or British troops from Egypt and the Sudan. Tile vote, which was taken by a show of hands, was defeated. Abu Alam called this an unpatriotic action and this led to angry words, alter which the Wafdist Opposition walked out of the Chamber. Abu Alam later told reporters that lie was convnced that tlie Wafdist motion had been defeated because the Government still hoped to resume negotiations with Britain.
