NAVIGATION LIGHTS AND POWER SHORTAGE

(P.A.) Auckland, March 18. The electric power situation should not be allowed to place the port in a state of danger or embarrass pilots, stated Mr. J. H Frater, when asking at a meeting of the Auckland Harbour Beard if the board intended to purchase auxiliary equipment to protide for continuous service of essential lights on the harbour. Chief Engineer N. L. Vickerman said plans were being made for emergency lighting at. all navigation lights affected by power cut.-.
