COMING-OF-AGE DANCE
In the Waverley Town Hall supper room on February 18, Mr. and Mrs. Clem Booker invited friends and relations to a dance to celebrate the com- 1 ing-of-age of their only daughter, Grace, Music was supplied by the Jolly MacS., and Mr. D. Morrison made a very capable M.C. Cooker received her guests wearing a white satin and marquisette frock and red shoulder spray. Mr. J, J. Johnlon kindly acted as toast master. After the toast to The King, the guest of honour cut the cake and her health was drunk*with musical honours. Mr. Booker presented his daughter with a gold key. In a brief speech Miss Booker thanked Mr. Johnston for his kind remarks and her friends for all their lovely gifts. During the evening Miss Breton, Aramoho, beautifully rendered a song, her rich young voice’ charming all present. Mrs. Breton accompanied her daughter. Among the numerous telegrams received was one from Ray, who was . unable to be present. Guests came from Auckland, Wanganui, Palea, Hawera and Eltham and a happy evening was enjoyed by all.
