DOUBTFUL RUNNERS AT TRENTHAM
In addition to the several cratchings already annouced for the first day of the Wellington Racing Club’s autumn meeting at Trentham on Saturday, there are several doubtful runners. In addition to the defection of Beau le Havre and Ballinagh from the N.Z. St. Leger Stakes, Robin’s Reward will not make the journey and Fine Flavour is stated to be unlikely to start. Howe has been under a cloud but his owner stated the three-year-old is all right again. Neither Night Ops (Plunket Nursery) nor Sari (Rimu Highweight) will be at the meeting. The Hastings trainer J. PRyan did not bring Fleetwood on from Masterton, it having been decided to have him ge’ded before he will race again. Malanui, a member of P. Burgess’s team, is sporting a big leg as a result of being galloped on at Woodville. Ultimate, from H. A. Telford’s stable, was showing signs of soreness and he was not galloped. The following scratchings were announced yesterday: Privilege (Railway Handicap) 10.45 a.m.; Lavish Lady (Tinakori Handicap) 11.33 a.m.; Gold W’and (Challenge Stakes, second day) 11.50 a.m.
