WELLINGTON FAILS BY TWO RUNS ON THE FIRST INNINGS AGAINST WANGANUI
The unexpected turn for the worse in the weather yesterday prevented the playing of the second innings in the Wellington - Wanganui senior cricket match. However, even though the wicket was wet, Wellington’s first innings was completed in half an hour s play early yesterday morning, Wanganui winning the match by two runs on the first innings. At the conclusion of play on Tuesday, in reply to Wanganui’s total of 178, Wellington had lost eight wickets for 168, Wrigley and Alien being the batting pair. I* the half-hour yesterday, Wrigley went lbw to Cameron and Allen was caught by Felts off H. B. Cave practically immediately afterwards, to close the innings two runs behind Wanganui. Cave’s wicket yesterday was’ his fifth for -the innings.
