“SWORDS INTO PLOUGH SHARES”—500 Loyd Agricultural Tractors, made from spare parts of Brett gun carriers, have been ordered by the Argentine Government. The first of these is seen being lowered into the hold, of the Royal .Mail Line’s s.s. Duringo at London docks. On arrival at Buenos Aires, the tractor was demonstrated to the Minister of Agriculture of the Argentine. The tractors, which cost £750 each, have been purchased on a form of long-term hire-purchase system by Argentine farmers.
