MR. ASSISTANT ADJUDICATOR
Assistant Adjudicator T. J. KirkBurnand was conductor of the R.N.Z A.F. Central Band on its first visit to Auckland and Christchurch. Resigning his commission in the R.N.Z A.F., he served in the 13th Railway Construction Company in Libya, Greece and Crete, attaining the rank of WOI. He organised the Kiwi Concert Party before being invalided home. Under his direction as principal, the Nelson School of Music reached the peak of its 50 years' existence in both numbers and teaching staff.
