SECOND GRADE CRICKET P. AND T. DEFEATED BY WANGANUI
By scoring 119 against 28, in the first innings, Wanganui deteated P. and T. on Saturday afternoon. Wanganui's highest scorer for the match was Les Head, who compiled 29 before going out to Crombie. Head also was the most success! ul bowler against the P. and T. first innings, finishing with 5 men to his credit tor only 12 runs. When P. and T. went to bat, wickets fell very cheaply, the highest scorers being Bones and Bevege, who each, hit up nine runs. The innings ended lor only 28 runs and P. and T. went off onto their second innings. This time, results were better, wickets having fallen for 73 at the end of the day. Bevege 25, and Tyler 13 were the best scorers. Stricken, who expelled three men for 12 runs was the point of the Wanganui attack for the P. and T. second innings. T. 0.8. DEFEAT RAILWAY ON THE FIRST INNINGS
In a match lacking in confident batting, Tech. Old Boys defeated Railways by 22 runs on the first innings. Top scorer and also most successful bowler of the match was the T. 0.8. player, R.
