HOUSEWIVES’ ASSOCIATION
FINAL MEETING OF THE YEAR IN WANGANUI Mrs. M. A. Archibald presided over the final meeting for the year of the Wanganui Housewives’ Association, and welcomed members, also their friends, who had been specially invited to be present. After reading the minutes, the secretary, Miss A. McCarthy, dealt with the correspondence, which included a letter from the Auckland branch, also N Z. Women's Food Value League conveying thanks for forwarding a copy of a letter received from the Eng’lish Housewives. A letter was read from the Department of Health in reply to one sent by the association in regard to preservatives used in meat and other foods. A reply was received from the Master Bakers' and Pastrycooks’ A-.s»cia-tion to the complaint about the price and small size of cakes, also the charge of 7d for two half-loaves joined together.
