CO-OPERATION WITH CHURCHES
BIBLE TRAINING INSTITUTE “I was dismayed when I came to New Zealand to discover the deep gorge which exists between the New Zealand Bible Training Institute and the churches of the Dominion,” said the Rev. J. H. Deane, newly-appointed director of the institute when he addressed the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church jn Wanganui yesterday. “I was not used to this situation in Australia and I have come to tell you that the directors and staff have but one policy, that of making the institute the handmaiden of the churches,” Mr. Deane added. With much enthusiasm the assembly carried the following resolution : ‘That the assembly expresses its great appreciation of the visit of the Rev. J. H. Deane. It extends to him a warm welcome to New Zealand, wishes him all success in his work as principal of the New Zealand Bible Training Institute, and trusts that he will be greatly used in the extension of the Kingdom of God in New Zealand.”
