NEW AIR FREIGHTER TAKES CAR TO GUERNSEY.—Delivery of a new car from the Nuffield factory at Cowley, Oxon, to a customer in Guernsey inside four hours was accomplished on October 17 for the first time in history. The Miles “Aerovan” freight carrier was used for this purpose. The car, a Morris 8, was driven up a specially built ramp into the fuselage of the aircraft at Woodley Aerodrome, near Reading. The car, which was ordered for immediate delivery by Mr. E. J. Bougourd, proprietor of Ruette Brayes Motors, Guernsey, was collected at Guernsey airport by its new owner. Picture shows the new car is driven up the special ramp into the fuselage of the Miles “Aerovan” in preparation for its flight to Guernsey from Reading.
