MR. J. B. COTTERILL, M.P., OPENS CAMPAIGN

The silting Labour member for the Wanganui seat, Mr. J. B. CotteriU M.P. opened his election campaign in the Opera House last night. The audience of about 250 was presided over by the Mayor, Hon. W. J. Rogers M.L.C.

Mr. CotteriU dealt in detail with the Labour Government's record of legislation during the last three years in the course of a two-hour address. He was accorded an attentive hearing throughout, many of his references to the party’s plans being applauded. The speaker also answered several questions at the conclusion of his address. A vote of thanks and confidence, moved by Mr. C. B. Trice, and se' Zded by Mr. H. Adams, was c*-ied unanimously.
