SALES TAX RECEIPTS A RECORD

Sales lax collected in the Dominion in July was a monthly record of £l,953,053, according to the latest Abstract of Statistics. The previous record was in March, when £1,729.094 was collected. The July total was £805,596 higher than In June, or 70.2 per cent., and was £797,405, or 69 per cent., above receipts in July, 1945, In the seven months ended July sales lax receipts were £9,942,970, an increase of £2,236,764, or 29 per cent., above the total for ihe corresponding period last year.
