OPENING OF ELECTION CAMPAIGN IN WANGANUI

Electioneering will begin in earnest in the Wanganui electorate to-night when the sitting member, Mr. J. B. Cotterill, M.P., will open the Labour campaign in the Opera House. A series of National Party addresses will begin in the Opera House to-morrow night, when the Leader oi the Opposition, Mr. S. G. Holland, M.P., will speak in support of the National Party candidate for the Wanganui seat, Mr. E. W. Merewether. Mr. Hplland will arrive in Wanganui early to-morrow afternoon from Hawera and will meet members of the Maori race at Putiki at 2 p.m. He will arrive at Foster’s Hotel at 4 p.m. and will be welcomed there by Mr. Merewether and.members of the National Party.
