TWO CRIMINAL CASES SET DOWN FOR SUPREME COURT
Two criminal trials and one civil case for hearing by the Judge alone are set down for the fourth quaiterly session lor 1946 of the Supreme Court Wanganui, which opens at 10.30 a.m next Monday. Mr. Justice Fair will preside and the session is expected to last a week. There is also one defended petition for divorce and several undefended petitions. A case of considerable interest con corning building by-laws is also set down. It involves ah appeal against a decision given by the Magistrate' o Court, Wanganui, following legal argument as to whether a person could be charged twice witn the same offence. The business of the session includes: (RIMIN AL. (For Trial). Dean Kaka, alleged breaking and entering and theft, and unlawful conversion of a motor-ear. Thomas Lambert King, alleged incest. CIVIL. (Before Judge Alone). Leonard Douglas Dalziell v. Brenda Lucy Dalziell, taking of accounts and counter-claim for declaration as to ownership of land and stock. IN BANCO. William S. Steele v. Herbert Hewitt, case on appeal from decision of magistrate.
