MOTHERS’ UNION QUIET DAY

The annual “Quiet Day” for all branches of the Mothers' Union, held on Thursday, October 3, at Christ Church, was well attended. The addresses at the three services of Holy Communion, intercessions and Mothers' Union service were given by the vicar, Rev. J. R. Higgs. The speaker based his talks on the five themes—God is Joy, Power, Light, Love and Source of Peace.

Afternoon tea was served in the Parish Hall, when the door hostesses were Mesdames Rule and Hounsell. Invitations to birthday meetings were received from Wanganui East, St. Agnes, Aramoho and Marton. Members were reminded of the parents' evening to be held on the fourth of this month. Letters were read by Mrs, S. Kendall from the two link branches in England.
