Reed. 11.40 p.m. New York, Oct. 7. The Archbishop of New York, Cardinal Spellman, assailed the “Satanic Soviet sycophants,” ot Yugoslavia for the trial of Archbishop Stepinac, on a charge of treason.
Cardinal Spellman was addressing 50.000 people attending a World Peace rally.
“Stepinae’s persecutors are followinga perfidious pattern of Communist Godlessness, barbarism and enslavement,” he said. Already they have sealed the doom ,of this noble and humane priest/’
