T.O.G. WIN HOCKEY TROPHY AT PALMERSTON

LONG AND STRENUOUS FINAL MATCH The Wanganui Technical Old Girls' hockey team travelled to Palmerston North on Saturday an:l there secured the "Champion of Champions” women’s hockey trophy. The competition drew 18 entries, including the Wangaehu and Collegian teams besides the winners from Wanganui. T.OG, having won three games and drawn the fourth, replayed Eketahuna in the final of their section -nd won 1-0.

The final match between Huimal (Marton) and T.O.G. was fast and strenuous. Full time came without a score, and it was decided to plav o'.) until either team hit the ball from the circle over the back line. Two more spells passed with neither team ■showing any suoeriority, and the umpires then decided that the ball could be hit over the back line from anywhere on the field.
