BRITISH SOLDIER PRISONER OF POLISH POLICE
Recd. 8 p.m. . Warsaw, Oct. 5 A British soldier, Private Alvin Vincent, left for London by air, after telling a story of 12 months’ imprisonment by the Polish Security Police. Vincent said he was taken prisoner on Crete and liberated by the Russians. The police later arrested him and called him a “Churchill bandit and capitalist and spy.” He repeatedly was beaten and charged with spying. He was released when the news of his imprisonment reached the British Embassy.
