OPERA HOUSE: “Captain Kidd.” A swashbuckling story of piracy on the high seas, with Charles Laughton in the title role of one of the most spectacular careers of a gaudy era. Randolph Scott and Barbara Britton procide the love interest.

MAJESTIC: “Because of Him,” Deanna Durbin's latest, with Charles Laughion and Franchot Tone the supporting stars. A tantalising story of a stage struck girl, studded with songs and laughs. Deanna sings in the way that first made her famous “Lover.” “Danny Boy,” and Tosti’s “Boodbye.”

REGENT: “Blonde Alibi,” a mystery thriller starring Martha O'Driscoll, Tom Neal, and Donald Mcßride, is a full length feature. An outstanding programme of sports shorts include the Louis-Conn fight for the world heavyweight premiership, “All Blacks defeat Australians,” and “Wizard of the Cue." DUCHESS: “Let’s Face It," Bob Hope’s hilarious comedy. MID-WEEK CHANGES.

OPERA HOUSE: Commencing Tuesday, “The Night Before the Divorce,” a comedy of romantic misunderstandings, starring Lyn Bari and Mary Beth Hughes. Associate feature “The Ox Bow Incident,” has Dana Andrews and Henry Fonda as stars.

MAJESTIC: “The Green Years,” from A. J. Cronin’s renowned novel, will begin a scheduled nine-day season on Tuesday. M.G.M.’s picturisation of one of the greatest love stories of our time stars Charles Coburn, Tom Drake, Gladys Cooper, and Beverley Tyler. The delightful music is prominent, and includes “Coming Through the Rye," “Ye Banks and Braes,” “Loch Lomond," “Hundred Pipers,” and Handel’s “Hallelujah Chorus.”

REGENT: Request return season of “Anthony Adverse,” which will be screening for three days. The cast list of this classic is headed by Frederick March, Olivia De Havilland, Donald Woods, and Claude Rains.

DUCHESS: Monday and Tuesday, “Wing and a Prayer,” with Dana Andrews and Don Ameche starred. Wednesday and Thursday, “And Now Tomorrow," starring Alan Ladd and Loretta Young. NEXT WEEK-END.

OPERA HOUSE: “Waltz Time," the best musical yet from Britain, starring Richard Tauber, Peter Grove and Patricia Medena. Straus tunes provide the bulk of the musical score. MAJESTIC: “Green Years.”
