GOERING SAYS STALIN GREATEST ALLIED WAR LEADER
London, Oct. 2. Goering, interviewed in his death cell by the “Evening Standard’s” correspondent, defiantly again defended Nazism, and repainted his favourite picture that Goering was Germany’s hero. He said: “I presume some Germans will curse me. Olliers, I daresay, believe I did all I could to safeguard peace and when peace co.uld not be kept did all I could to win the war.” Goering declared that Nazism was the last attempt to turn the ♦world’s revolution toward socialism into channels allowing the values of the past to be conserved. He was asked: “What is your opinion of the atom bomb?” He answered that its possession decided the world's future, and if the United States did not hold the lead it would mean the world’s extinction. Question: Which of the Allied war leaders do you consider the most outstanding? Answer: Stalin. Question: What of Germany’s future? Answer: That does not depend on the German people but on the true intentions of Britain, and America, and their willingness to stand up for their own interests.
