WANGANUI ROWING CLUB ELECTION OF OFFICERS
The annual general meeting of the Wanganui Rowing Club was held on I Tuesday, the president (Mr. P. Evans) I presiding over a good attendance of members. The president welcomed returned servicemen, saying that, it was pleasing to see so much activity after the lapse of rowing during the war years. With an increased membership this season, the club could look forward to a sue- ! cessful year, he added. Election of officers resulted as follows: Patron, Mr. T. H. James; president. Mr. P. Evans; vice-presidents, Messrs. J. H. Clay, F. W. Gilligan. Eric Jones, . H. R. Janes. J. R. McDonald and A. ; Webster; club captain, Mr. T. Atchison; deputy captain, Mr. M. Byres: hon. secretary, Mr. G. Leighton- ' Jones; bon. treasurer. Mr. M. Larkin; ‘ assistant treasurer, Mr- M. R. Breed; j hon. Auditor, Mr. L. H. Holland; official starter, Mr. B. Stroud: official ; iudge. Mi-. J. A. Brock; committee. Messrs. V. Clapham, R. Gould, H 1 Clark, N. Foster, D. Nancarrow, and ; L Northover. I-n his concluding remarks the presl- ' dent thanked the committee, coaches, coxswains, and all supporters for their services during the past season.
