WANGANUI RED CROSS V.A.’S TO COMPETE FOR HOME NURSING CUP

A team of voluntary aides from the Wanganui Red Cross Centre is to participate for the Collins Cup competition in home nursing, to be held at Wellington on October 12. At yesterday’s meeting of the executive of the society a grant of fls towards the expenses of the team was approved. Yesterday’s meeting was the quarterly one of delegates from the district, with representatives from Marton, Taihape, Hunterville and Waverley present.

Reports of the recent Dominion Council meeting were presented, and Miss Wilton reported on the N.Z. Junior Red Cross meeting she had attended.

A donation to the Florence Nightingale Memorial Fund was approved. This fund provides the necessary money by which trained nurses from devastated areas of Europe may receive further professional training in England.
