WANGANUI GOLF CLUB SENIOR BOGEY MATCH
With improved golfing conditions at Belmont on Saturday, some very good scores were handed in from the oogey match. 11. B. Cave went round hi 74 to finish 3 up on bogey, winning the senior bogey match. There was somewhat of a surprise ' in the second round of the club cham- i pionship when W. G. Fisher beat A.! R. Kitto one up. Both were playing I w ell and were all square after the | 17th hole- At the 18th both were . bunkered with their seconds: both i failed to recover with their first attempt and then Fisher placed his second bunker shot close to the hole and won with a 5. He went around in 72. one under the scratch score, and his success was due largely to excellent approaching and putting. Fisher now plays H. Cave in the semi-final, and the winner is to play B. M. Silk in Iho final. Following are the results of Saturday’s bogey match:— Seniors.—H. Cave 3 up. W. R. Creighton 2 up, F. G. Beaven 1 up, K. Brooks 1 up. Juniors- —E. Ogier all square, H.
