LOUIS WILL FIGHT MAURIELLO TO-DAY
EXPERTS SAY IT WILL GO THREE ROUNDS
Recd. 7.20 p.m. New York, Sept. 18. It is expected that 30,000 will pay 300,000 dollars to see the MaurielloLouis title bout at Yankee Stadium tonight. Mauriello, at 23, is nine years younger than Louis. He has had more fights and boasts of more knockouts than Louis, but the opinion is general that only stark carelessness on the part of Louis will jeopardise his title. Most sports writers believe that the fight will be over quickly--the third round is the favourite prediction—but expert belief also holds that it will be an exciting battle with a spectacular finish, irrespective of the victor. The “Herald - Tribune’s” sports writer says: “The fact that Mauriello is strong and game and has never been knocked out in 78 fights, is interesting but irrelevant, because he never faced Louis or a fighter like Louis.” Louis will weigh about 14st. 41b and Mauriello 14st. 11b. oners had escaped he was shown their bodies.
