A new record total for sterling funds held by the Reserve Bank. £86.817,409. is set out in the bank’s latest return, which is for the week ended August 19. The previous record was established in the week ended July 29. Note issue showes a rise during the week of £351.852 to £45.337.217. The return, in millions. for the week ended August 19. with the averages for 1939 and 1915. is as follows: LIABILITIES.
