DEBATE ON ALBANIA

YUGOSLAV CHARGES AGAINST GREECE Recd. 10 p.m. Paris,, Aug? 10. Mr. Hzymowski (Poland), addressing the plenary session in support of Yugoslavia’s proposal to allow Albania to attend the Paris conference, with a “consultative voice” during the discussion of the Italian Treaty, asked why some protectors of small nations had not spoken in Albania’s favour. Mr. A. V. Alexander (Britain) supported Mr. Byrnes’ proposal to refer lhe Albanian question and similar applications to a general commission, but Mr. Vyshinsky and Mr. Munuilsky (Russia) demanded that, the conferlence should determine Albania’s ■ position immediately. The conference decided Io reopen the Albanian question on Monday. Mr. Pijade (Yugoslavia) enlivened the debate by alleging that Mr. Tsaldaris (Greece) suggested to him only the other clay that Albania should be divided between Greece and Yugoslavia “He calls that realistic politics.’’ he said. "We don’t like such politics.” Despite the lessons of history, the Greek Government still failed to understand the present world situation. Mr. Pijade continued. The Greek Government’s idea was elimination of Albania from the map. The Greek regime had not abandoned the policy of its predecessors, which was to fo- • ment and start wars in the Balkans.
