New Zealand's import selection policy was not affected by the loan. Our import selection and exchange control policies were within the framework of Brettoii Woods. The question of our acceptance of the Bretton Woods agreement was for Parliament to determine, but it would be difficult and peculiar for us to keep out if Britain were in and Britain had now agreed to accept Bretton Woods. She did so because the United States granted the loan.
Mr. Nasli said that a series of important international conferences to promote international trade were scheduled for the coming months, cuiminat ing in a « erld conference next March, or later. In the preliminary British Commonwealth discussions New Zealand had stressed the importance of full employment, and would do everything possible to promote world trade without jeopardising full employment and full living standards.
