The Rev. H. G. Gilbert, who retired recently from St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Hamilton, has been appointed Dominion organiser for the New Zealand Alliance.
Mr. H. L. R. Read, officer in charge of the National Employment Service in South Auckland, has been promoted to a similar position in Wellington. He will be succeeded by Mr. C, A. Beaufort, formerly manpower officer in Hamilton. The death has occurred at Hove, Sussex, of Mr. Cecil Fenwick Mitchell, at one time a well-known resident of Dunedin. Mr. Mitchell was a son of Mr. John Mitchell, one of the founders of Messrs. Ferguson and Mitchell and a brother of the late Mr. Frank W. Mitchell.
Mr. F. H. Kelly, of the Bank of New South Wales, West port, has been appointed manager of the bank's Newmarket branch. He will replace Mr. R. F. Hunter, who has been appointed manager of the Rotorua branch. Mr. S. G. M. Yeoman, of the Auckland office, has been appointed branch manager at. Eketahuna.
