STABILISATION CHIEF HAS RESIGNED

Recd. 6 n.m. Washington, June 29. President Truman has announced the resignation, effective from July 7, of Mr. Chester Bowles, Economic Stabilisation Administrator. Mr. Bowles, in a letter to President Truman, said the measure which the Senate passed to-day will simply serve to legalise inflation. Effective control of prices and rents would be impossible. Mr. Bowles previously threatened to resign if price control was weakened.
