ONE-STREET CITY
“Commercially, Wanganui is a 'one-street city,’ in spit? of the unusually large size of the area over which it is spread,” remarked Dr. G. Jobberns, professor of geography, Canterbury University College, Christchurch, speaking in Wanganui for the New Zealand Geographical Society. “Concentration of shopping in Victoria Avenue is a striking feature of so large a city.”
