DAMAGED CAR WHILE IN TEMPER
MAORI LABOURER GAO’-ED. Rangi Martin, aged 46, labourer, was sentenced io six months’ imprisonment on a marge of mischief when he appeared betore Mr. J. 11. Salmon, S.M., in the Wanganui Magistrate’s Court on Friday. Sergeant \V. runmty, police p:osecutor, said that accused had been working lor the owner of the trucK, Vivian John Mathews, and on June 23 had-borrowed the vehicle, which was later found in a damaged condition on the Raelihi-Ohakune main highway. Accused had apparently had en-
gine trouble and when unable to repair it had lost his temper and attacked the engine with the c.ankhandie. The damage was estimated at £35. There was evidence that accu ed was under the influence of liquor al the time.
