MATCH RESULTS. W The second round of the Wanganß Table Tennis Association's ; n’er-clt® competition has been completed the following results:— M "A” Grade.—Wanganui No. 1 dM feated 2nd. N.Z.E.F. No. 1. 11-9; Wa« ganui No. 2 defeated Marton, 18-2. ■ “B” Grade. —First Division: Durifl Hill No. 2 defeated Wanganui No. A 14-6; 2nd. N.Z.E.F. No. 2 defeat® Wanganui No. 3, 14-6; Y.M.C.A. defeated Maxwell, 19-1; Y.M.C.A. N® 3 defeated Io Kai Iwi. Second Dr® sion: 2nd. N.Z.E.F. No. 1 defeat® Wanganui No. 2, 18-2; Durie Hill N® 1 defeated 2nd. N.Z.E.F. No. 3, 17-® Fordell defeated Y.M.C.A. No. 2, 11-® A.T.C. defeated Kaitoke, 16-4. ® *C” Grade.—Firs! Division: Wq® gamii defeated Y.M.C.A. No. 1, Durie Hill No. 3 defeated Y.M.C.® No. 3. 17-3; St. Mary’s defeated Ma® well No. 2, 20-D; raxes defeated Kt® toke, 16-4. Second division: Dur® Hill No. 1 defeated Y.M.C.A. No. ® 16-4; 2nd. N.Z.E.F. defeated No. 1, 11-9; Fordell defaulted to Kai Iwi. It is, as yet, too early to forecast the various winning teams, owing to the number of mtches still to be played. However, in the “A” grade, Wanganui No. 1 has not yet been defeated, although the match with the 2nd. N.Z.E.F. No. 1. was nearly their undoing, the doubles being the deciding factor. Wanganui No. 2 and 2nd. N.Z.E.F. No. 1 have had one win each. In the “B” grade esection Durie Hill Nos. 1 and 2 teams, Y.M.C.A. No. 1, 2nd. N.Z.E.F. No. 1, and A.T.C. having ail two wins to their credit In tne “C” grade section Wanganui, St. Mary’s, and Durie Hill No. 1 have each won two matches. The next series of matches is to he completed by July 9. ASSOCIATION’S LADDER. The association ladder is creating great interest amongst the top players. Connor succeeaed in attaining top position from Stewart by two points in the third game. Welsh reached third place by defeating Hunt in a three game match. Owen retained his position from Thomas in two straight' games. Andrews moved up to seventh place by defeating Ogier in two straight games. Hassall defaulted to Broad whilst Crutchley held his position from Foster. The results were:—Connor defeated Stewart, 21-17, 21-23, 21-19; Welsh defeated Hunt, 21-17, 18-21, 21-14; Owen defeated Thomas, 21-8, 21-16; Andrews defeated Ogier, 21-14, 21-6; Crutchley defeated Foster, 21-11, 21-17. On the ladies’ ladder Mrs. Willacy again held her top position oy defeating Miss Greaves and Mrs. Broad went up a step by • defeating Miis McKernan. Mrs. Fowler retained her position from Mrs. Ogier. The detailed results are:—Mrs. Willacy defeated Miss Greaves, 21-12, 23-21; Mrs. Broad defeated Miss McKernan, 21-13, 2111; Mrs. Fowler defeated Mrs. Ogier, 21-10, 21-16.
