JEWS BEATEN TO DEATH
DANUBIAN DISTURBANCES CROWDS INCITED BY NAZIS Recd. 6 p.m. London. May 25. Following anti-Jewish disturbances at Kufimaradas, there were further anti-Semetic disturbances at the small Danubian town of Celldomoelk on Friday. Jews yesterday demonstrated in front of Parliament House. Cabinet decided on rigorous measures to prevent anti-Semitism, and has sent Mr. Pfeiffer, Secretary of State for Justice, to Celldomoelk to investigate, and a Parliamentary delegation to Kunmaradas to control local investigations. A police investigation into the Kunmaradas incident resulted in the arrest of 120 persons of a village population of 12,000. They will be courtmartialled. The disturbances, which followed beatings, arose from agitation by local Nazis, who spread a rumour that Jewish shopkeepers sold sausages made from the flesh of kidnapped children. A crowd attacked Jewish merchants, and looted flats and shops. Three Jews were beaten to death and 17 were injured.
