UNIVERSITY OF OTAGO TO GET £10,000
R.S.A. AND OTHERS, BENEFIT UNDER A WILL (P.A.) Dunedin, May 24. The University of Otago is likely to benefit by a sum in the vicinity of £lO,OOO from the estate of Miss Edith Isabelle de Carle who died in Dunedin last month. Several other public bequests, including a large sum to the Dunedin Returned Services Association, are also made under the will. The estate was sworn, for probate purposes, at under £23.000, and the will provides for the following public legacies and gifts:— Otago Women’s Club. £100: Y.W.C.A.. Dunedin, £200: St. Matthew’s Anglican Church. Dunedin. £250; all nictures to the Dunedin Public Art Gallery; certain valuable articles of period furniture. crystal ware and chinaware to the Otago Museum, subiect tn certain life interests: income and capital, at the discretion of the trustee, in sums totalling £3OOO to the Dunedin branch of the N.Z.P.S \ . for the benefit end welfare of disabled soldiers, sailors and airmen, or their dependents; the residue of the estate to the Otago University for its general purposes.
