N.Z. FIANCEES OF U.S. SERVICEMEN
1000 UNABLE TO GET INTO AMERICA (P.A.) Auckland, May 21. There are still about 1000 fiancees of American servicemen waiting in New Zealand to join their future husbands in America. After exhausting every prospect, they now consider that their sole hope Is the proposed amendment to the United States immigration laws, which would permit servicemen to bring in bona fide fiancees as temporary visitors on a three-months permit. Some of the girls have been informed that no fiancee is now permitted to enter the United States on a visitor’s visa until the present law is amended.
