TRAFFIC OFFENCES
WANGANUI COURT CASES. On a charge of not having a current Oliver’s licence, Bill Herewini was filled 10s, with costs 12s, by Mr J. H. Salmon, S.M., in the Wanganui Magistrate's Court yesterday. Inspector J. Minnell, City Council, said that defendant had' not had a licence since 1143. Defendant said that the date of the offence was the first occasion he had driven a motor vehicle since his discharge from the Army in 1944. Georoge Hanan McKay was fined £l, with costs 10s, for operating a trailer without a warrant of fitness, and 10-s, with costs 10s, for operating a motor car- without a fitness warrant. Inspector E. Hambling, City Council, sail that defendant had told him that he was not aware that he had to have a warrant of fitness for the trailer. Robert Wilson was fined 10s, with c.sts 10s, for having no warrant of fitness for a truck. Turnulty said that renewal of the warrant was two months overdue. A fine of 105, with costs 10s, was imposed on Francis Edward McCarten for riding a cycle at night without a light.
