The Rev. E. F. Farr, after three and a-half year’s service overseas in the Pacific and Middle East as an Army chaplain, has received a call to Knox Church, Lower Hutt. Mr. D. G. A. Little accountant of the National Bank of New Zealand, Auckland, has been appointed assist-ant-manager of the bank’s Wellington branch. He will be succeeded by Mr. G. R.. Craig, now sub-accountant at Auckland.

Mr. E. A. Millward was re-elected chairman of the Wanganui Harbour Board at the annual meeting yesterday. Mr. W. Morrison was also reelected to the position of deputychairman. Committees are to be appointed later. Mr. H. Bevin, of Gonvilie, a former cornet player in the Wanganui Garrison Band, was the subject of feeling reference by the conductor, Captain R. Francis, at last night’s practice, when a motion of condolence was passed, members standing in silence as a mark of respect to his memory.
