Rare Dolphin Caught.

A true dolphin, the second known member of this unusual species caught in New Zealand waters has been presented to the Auckland War Memorial Museum by the Fishermen’s Company, Auckland. The fish, which is about 3ft long, was caught east of the Poor Knights. The dolphin is not to be confused with the common dolphin, found in plenty in New Zealand waters, which is really of the porpoise species.
