There was a steady demand for sheep, which were penned in average numbers. Values were on a par with last week’s sales. Extra heavy prime wethers made 12 Is to £2 2s 6d; heavy, £1 18s to £2 9s 9d; medium, 11 14s to £1 17s 9d; light, £1 9s 6d to £1 13s 9d; plain and unfinished, 11 to 11 9s; extra heavy prime young and maiden ewes, 11 8s 3d to 11 12s 6d; heavy 11 6s to 11 8s; lighter, 11 2s 6d to 11 5s 9d; 17s 6d to 11 2s; just killable, 12s 6d to 17s; others, 7s to 12s. Average numbers of lambs were penned, prime quality selling at late quotations, while plain and unfinished were dull of sale. Extra heavy prime lambs made 11 14s to 1117 s 6d; heavv, 11 Ils to 11 13s 9d; medium, 11 8s to 11 10s 9d; lighter, 11 6s to 11 7s9d; light, 1 3s to 11 5s 9d; smaller, 19s to 11 2s 6d; unfinished best, Ils to 17s; others 5s to 10s 9d. There was a good yarding of calves. Good quality runners and vealers sold zeadily at late quotations, while value. l for unfinished and late sale calves were lower. No extra heavy prime runners wer e penned. Medium runners made 15 10s to 18; heavy vealers, 16 to 17; medium, 14 10s to 15 10s; light, 12 10s to 14; small, 11 5s to 12 ss; unfinished and bucket-fed, 11 to 11 10s; bdbby and rough, 10s to £l. A small yarding of pigs was offered, prices for bacon being firm and there was a marked increase in pork. No choppers were yarded. Heavy prime baconers made. 15 10s to 15 18s; medium. 15 to 15 9s; light, 14 Is to 15; heavy porkers, 14 to 14 8s; medium. 13 10s to 13 18s; light. 12 10s to 13 ss; small and unfinished, 11 16s to 12 6s; stores, 11 5s to 11 15s; slips, 15s to 11 4s; weaners, 5s to 15s.
